Mark Dekan appointed new CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Media AG

 Effective from 1 March 2013, Mark Dekan, 36, will take over as Chief Executive Officer of Ringier Axel Springer Media AG. He will retain his position as Chief Financial Officer. The current CEO Florian Fels, 45, is appointed CEO Publishing for Ringier AG, thus taking over responsibility for the core business of the Swiss media company. As a consequence of this move by Florian Fels, the Ringier Axel Springer Media AG group management will in the future comprise two members, Mark Dekan as CEO/CFO and Chief Digital Officer Patrick Boos, 45.

Mark Dekan had several years of experience in senior financial positions in the logistics sector, before being appointed Commercial Director of the Finance and Services Division at Axel Springer AG in 2008. He took over the position of Chief Financial Officer of Ringier Axel Springer Media AG upon the establishment of the joint venture in 2010.

Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia launched a subscription e-shop - iStánok.sk

Subscribing made easy. This is the best description for the e-shop www.istanok.sk that can be used from October for subscribing all print and digital versions of Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia’s portfolio.

"The new e-shop iStánok.sk provides for all readers and subscribers clear and transparent information on print and digital products of the company and their quick purchase in one place," introduced the project Peter Červinka, who is responsible for company’s e-commerce activities. "One of the most interesting things about the platform is, that you can subscribe the most widely read newspaper in Slovakia - Nový Čas (Monday to Friday). Until now it was only possible through the Slovak Post," adds Červinka.

Special emphasis is given to the customer service. "We are providing support via email and telephone not only for print subscribers, but you can contact us also when having problems with digital applications. A part of the section FAQ is also dedicated to this topic. It is worth to register. Registered users have an overview of their past and pending orders, but we have prepared also special offers and discounts for them, “lists other benefits Červinka.

Currently the e-shop is offering various packages that will change regularly. With the annual subscription of monthly Eva and Madam Eva you will get branded cosmetics as a present. Roman Fülöp appointed as new Member of the Management Board of AZET.SK

Effective August 1, 2012, Roman Fülöp, 48, will become a member of the Management Board of the leading Slovakian web portal AZET.SK. He will still be responsible as Sales Director at Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia.

Through its Slovakian subsidiary Ringier Axel Springer Media AG acquired the majority stake in the provider of the Slovakian web portal AZET.SK in December 2010.

Besides the new Board Member Roman Fülöp, the Board will still consist of Peter Mertus, General Manager at Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia, Martin Mihalik CFO of Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia and Milan Dubec, founder and CEO of AZET.SK. Patrick Boos, Chief Digital Officer at Ringier Axel Springer Media AG, has been appointed as Non-Executive Member.

The current Board Members of AZET.SK Roman Dzamko, Karol Gogolak and Marek Vaclavik will withdraw from the operational business after the successful integration of AZET.SK into Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia. However, they will remain being partners of AZET.SK.

AZET.SK was founded in 1997 and bundles as a “horizontal portal” a number of different websites and online services. Currently AZET.SK reaches more than 79 percent of Slovakian internet users (approx. 2.3 million real users) and is the country's online market leader.
